Nasa’s upcoming newest mission on planning to carry an 8.4-foot telescope into the stratosphere with the help of a balloon to reach an altitude of 130000 feet ( 40 kilometres)
The balloon will be filled with helium gas and it will carry the telescope with mirrors, lenses and sensors that can capture the far-infrared light.
NASA ASTHROS mission is planning to launch in December 2023 from Antarctica.
The primary objectives of the mission
- To observe the far-infrared light that is blocked by earths atmosphere, by reaching a higher altitude. And this mission enhances to do astrophysics observations that never attempt before.
- ASTHROS planning to measure the motion and the speed of gasses around the stars that are newly formed.
- And also ASTHTOS will target to observe galaxy Messier 83 and TW Hydrae ( a young star )
